Summer Camp 2011 Our Goal is to Make This the Best Summer Music Camp Ever Held in SLO County, for the second year in a row! This summer camp experience provides an intensive jump start for every music student, on multiple instruments at once! Students receive intensive music lessons for 2 hours a day, and are required to go home and practice at least an additional 2 hours a day. At the end of the session, students take home a CD of a song they have created. Curriculum Every day the students learn one instrumental part to a song they choose from our list.* On Mondays, they learn the Piano/Keyboard Parts. On Tuesdays they learn the drum parts. On Wednesdays they learn the guitar and bass parts. On Thursdays they learn the vocal parts. And... on Fridays, they learn how to record all of the parts and create the song in a 24 track, digital recording studio! The second week is spent polishing up the instrumental parts learned in the first week, and refining and completing the recording. The students learn how to mix down their recordings and create a song, burned on a CD or flash drive, in MP3 format! On the last day of camp, we have a concert where students present their work to their family members. During the two-week session, students will play with each other in a "band", alternating instruments so that they get the feel of playing each part. The instruments in each band include guitars, bass, drums, keyboards/synthesizers, and vocals. We will have a limited amount of loaner instruments for students to take home when they are practicing instrument parts for instruments they don't own (ie: keyboards, guitars, bass, drums). Cost of Summer Camp There is a maximum of 6 students per instructor. Total cost per session is $330, plus a $15 materials fee. Enrollment and More Information Students are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Camp is open to students from 4th through 12th grade. "Bands" are created/grouped by putting together students of similar ability levels and ages. There are beginning, intermediate, and advanced groups for each age group. Email: Click here for more information or to hold a spot. You can also call: (805) 474-1224. We will accept students grades 4-12. * Students in each "band" will vote on the song they would like to work on, based on their ability level and ages.
