Rates for Private & Semi-Private Lessons

See Below for Tuition Policy (click here)

RATES: Rates are based on the level of the teacher and amount of the lesson time each week. We require that all students take at least a 30 minute lesson, once a week. Each Instructor's rate is based on their Qualification level. There are 4 levels of Instructors, specializing in various musical styles, ages, and levels. We can teach up to 2 students at a time, in a private lesson, for the same hourly rate. (This is limited to Parent/Child, Adult/Adult, or Sibling Combinations.) We are also open to the idea of teaching small groups, and have taught families of 3-4 members... all at the same time, for a customized hourly rate.

TEVELDE SCHOOL OF MUSIC

TUITION POLICY

Lessons at the teVelde School of Music are payable, in advance, on a monthly basis. Tuition is due on the 1st of every month, and is late if received after the 7th. Each student is expected to receive 4 lessons per month, every month. In the event that there are 5 weeks in the month, the student will have the choice to take the 5th lesson, and pay for it, or take the week off. This extra day may also be used as a makeup day for any lessons missed in the current month, the month before, or, in the case of a planned vacation, the following month. The goal for each student is to receive 48 lessons per year, which allows for 4 weeks of vacation annually.

As a result, the monthly tuition for each student should remain a constant figure. If the monthly tuition is received before the 1st of the month, a $5 discount will be applied to the account. Students who pay electronically, through our electronic bill paying system, will receive an automatic 2% additional discount per month. Electronic bill payments will be processed on the 25th of each month.

Students are required to give a 24-hour notice if cancelling a lesson. If this notice is given, student will be allowed to make up the missed lesson within the next 2 months at no additional charge, at the convenience of the teacher's schedule. If the teacher has a last minute cancellation, the student is entitled to one in the future, if needed. In that case, the student may cancel within the 24 hours, and still make up the lesson within the 2 month period.

In the event that a teacher is on vacation, a qualified sub may be brought in to teach the students. If there is a difference in Certification Level of the sub vs. the regular teacher, a credit will be given for the tuition difference on the next month's invoice.
