Family Learning Plan for Mostly Beginners - Jump Start (Family members must be at least 7 yrs old):

• For the first 2 weeks: 1-1hour lesson, per week, for each family member, with teacher of their instrument. Use the 2nd (free) hour to rehearse with the band. At the end of the 3rd week, each member continues to take 1 lesson a week on their instrument, and rehearse with the band on their own.
• Once a month, we have jam night. If your group makes an appointment, they may come and rehearse with the band coach, who will help the group polish individual songs, vocals, harmonies, etc.

Total Price for the entire 3 weeks, 2-1hour lessons per week:

* PLAN TWO *

ADD A FEW ROCK & ROLL INSTRUMENTS PLAN (for those who play guitar/drums or want to rock out more!) (Ages 9-Adult)

If your student has played/heard several instruments that intrigue them, you can have them alternate between 2-4 different instruments, over the period of 2 weeks, and, at the end of that time, spend the last week really getting good on their favorite one. This way you don't spend a lot of money on an instrument until you are sure which one is the one your student is going to love!!!

1. Week One: 2 One Hour lessons, on two different instruments. For instance, on Monday, the student could take a drum lesson on a full kit with Dean, and on Thursday, the student could take an electric guitar lesson with Joe.
2. Week Two: 2 More One-Hour lessons, on two more instruments: For instance, on Mondy, the student would take a Voice Lesson with Alan, and on Thursday, a Bass Lesson with Glen.
3. Week Three: 2 More One-Hour lessons, on the two favorite instruments. For instance, on Monday, a second hour on the favorite instrument of the 2 weeks. On Thursday, a second hour on the second favorite instrument. By this time, the accomplished musician has added 4 additional instruments to their reperatoire of instruments.

The Total Price, for one student to have 2 extra 1-hour lessons per week, on any instrument they wanted, would be: $60, making the total Christmas Package, for 3 weeks of intensive, 2 hour per week lessons, ONLY $180!!

PLAN THREE (Add a Few Exotic Instruments Plan - For those who play Piano/Drums/Voice)

If your student has played/heard several instruments that intrigue them, you can have them alternate between 2-4 different instruments, over the period of 2 weeks, and, at the end of that time, spend the last week really getting good on their favorite one. This way you don't spend a lot of money on an instrument until you are sure which one is the one your student is going to love, but the student gets a chance to play a really exotic instrument!!!

1. Week One, on Monday, the student would take a Harp Lesson with Jan, and on Thursday, a Voice lesson with Holly.
2. Week Two, on Monday, the student would take a Violin Lesson with Elizabeth, and on Thursday, a Song Writing & Recording Lesson with Bonnie
3. Week Three, on Monday, the student would take 2 One Hour lessons, on their most favorite instrument. On Thursday, they would work some more on singing, song writing, and recording with all of those instruments with Bonnie.

The Total Price, for one student to have 2 extra 1-hour lessons per week, on exotic or other instrument (you choose) they wanted, would be: $60-65, making the total Christmas Package, for 3 weeks of intensive, 2 hour per week lessons, ONLY $180-195!!

The "GET REALLY GOOD ON YOUR INSTRUMENT PLAN!"

Get some Intensive lessons in ADVANCED TECHNIQUE AND JUMP A LEVEL!!! GET REALLY GOOD on the Instrument you Already Play!!! Instead of playing beginner books that take 6 months or more to finish, decide that you want to get those books done and move up... OR... Ask Your Teacher if you can learn One Really Hard, Really Fun Solo!!!! If you take 2-3 lessons a week, you could knock out one level of books, or One Really Hard Solo!!! That means if you are in books 2A, and you want to be in 2B, you can do it in only 3 WEEKS!!! The Exchange Club Competition comes up in March, and Guild Comes up in May! All of the most fun Competitions are in the Spring... Get a Jump up on everyone else, and WIN WIN WIN!!!!!

1. Week One: An Extra Lesson on Monday, for an hour, to start working on an advanced piece, or to start working on knocking out 2 units a week in your books!!! An Extra Lesson on Thursday or Friday, for an hour, to work on some extra technique to build speed. At least 40 min of this lesson will be spent on Dou Dou Drums, Sight Singing, and Ear Training. More work on Difficult Solo Piece.
2. Week Two: Work will be spent on scales, chords, and arpeggios, while preparing 2 solid pieces for competition. Lots of work with the metronome, to get pieces fast and accurate.
3. Week Three: Solid work with dynamics, and building finesse and the skills it takes to win competitions... including interaction with the judges, and correct body posture and entrance and exits from performances. We will use video recording equipment to perfect your performances!

The Total Price, for one student to have 2 extra 1-hour ADVANCED lessons on the instrument of their expertice, per week, would be: $70, making the total Christmas Package, for 3 weeks of intensive, 2 hour per week lessons, ONLY $210!!

This is a Very Expensive Program for me to offer right now, especially in light of the fact that we are in the Holiday season, where a lot of people take a break from lessons to travel. But, I wanted to get across to you that in the "old" days, when I was a kid (in the 60's), we LOVED the Christmas Holidays... not because of the Christmas presents, those were nice, but becuase we knew we could have more chances to play really cool songs, and we could get really, really good!!!

That's what I want for my students! That wonderful push at the beginning of the year.

In addition, I would like ALL of our music students to create a vision board for your lives this year! We are starting a special year this January, the year 2010!!! I want you all to bring home a vision board from the school (I'm going to order a bunch for you guys... I have a lady that makes them for us for $20/each). I want you all to cut out photos and words from magazines, and write out what your goals for yourself and your music are this year.

You are all in my school because I saw something very special in you!!! You are true musicians, in every sense of the word, and I want you to feel proud of what you've accomplished, and I want you to think of ways to share your gift with others over the new year.

I'm going to put out a suggestion box in the waiting room, and I want you to think hard as to how you can use your music to help someoone this year. Write down your idea and put it in the box. The person, each month, with the best idea, is going to get a free lesson on any instrument you want!!!

There is more talent here, in the south San Luis Obispo County, than I have seen in any other area! This talent is not just among those in their 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, & 70's. but in their children, and in their entire families. It isn't hard to create a musical family, and it is such a gift to every member after you've done it. All it takes is ONE determined, enthusiastic, and committed educator in the household!
