Our teachers are the most important asset the school has. Every teacher is one of over 40 people interviewed. Not only are our teachers incredible musicians, but they believe in sharing their knowledge with their students in dynamic, fun, and effective ways.

A Perfect Match for Every Student

Each teacher is evaluated by the same testing system that new students are given, and then matched with the students they are given. This insures that the student will learn exactly the way the teacher teaches! The same qualities and values will be important to them, and they will thoroughly enjoy the lesson... from the teacher's perspective, and from the student's perspective.

Our Testing Insures an Enjoyable Lesson Every Time

We work hard to give each teacher only students that are in their preferred "sweet spot"... students that they will absolutely love teaching. This way, our teachers remain fresh all day, and excited to see their next student.

Levels of Certification:

Each teacher at teVelde Music is Certified to teach a certain level and category of student. The teachers go through continual teacher training, and continuing education, to insure that they stay current with the latest software and technology, as well as the latest in music education techniques.

The Highest Tech Music Classrooms Available Anywhere!

Our resident computer systems analyst, who is also an analyst at Cal Poly, makes sure that all of our computerized composing, and recording software is up to date. He has installed composing software, access to youtube and our huge database of songs, access to on-line sheet music stores, and other databases in every teaching room. This insures that we continue to have the highest tech music instruction classrooms possible!

Rates for Lessons at teVelde Music Are the Following:

Level I Teacher:

Has over 10 years of private lessons, and at least 1 year of teaching experience. Has studied learning styles and personality types, and is continually involved in music education programs at TSM, as well as at local colleges/universities.

Hourly Rate for Lessons: $60, Rate for 30 min Lesson: $26

Level II Teacher:

Has over 10 years of private lessons, and over 5 years experience teaching. Has studied learning styles and personality types, and is continually involved in music education programs at TSM, as well as at local colleges/universities.

Hourly Rate for Lessons: $66, Rate for 30 min Lesson: $33

Level III Teacher:

Has over 10 years of private lessons, and has a major or minor in Music or equivalent experience/education. Has over 10 years of teaching experience, and has done coursework in psychology, and advanced studies related to teaching music (pedagogy). Has extensive "real world" experience playing in performing bands, and is a master on his/her instrument. Plays multiple instruments, well. Has had extensive experience in fields such as professional arranging, songwriting, recording, and technical services in the music industry. Many of our teachers at this level are professional studio musicians.

Hourly Rate for Lessons: $70, Rate for 30 min Lesson: $35

Level IV Teacher:

Has over 30 years of private lessons, or equivalent. Has a major in music, or equivalent experience/education. Has over 15 years of teaching experience, and many awards for teaching excellence from accredited Music Teacher Organizations. Has extensive "real world" experience, as described in the Level III Teacher description, and is a master on his/her instrument. Plays and teaches multiple instruments, and is called on to judge local competitions.

Hourly Rate for Lessons: $80, Rate for 30 min Lesson: $40

Rates for Group Classes

Mommy & Me Toddler Classes, Ages 2-3: $60/mo

Pre-School Classes, Ages 4-5: $60/mo

String Orchestra, Beginning String Group, Ages 8-18: $240 per semester
