7 Signs of Musical Talent Do You or Does Your Child: 1. Love to listen to music? 2. Listen to favorite songs over and over? 3. Continually sing, hum, or get songs "stuck" in your head? 4. Constantly tap fingers on surfaces? 5. Ask to play a specific instrument or sing? 6. Figure out tunes "by ear"? 7. Have Close Relatives (Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins) who play or sing.. especially "by ear"? Note: If you or your child demonstrate three (3) or more of these symptoms, you (or your child) need to be tested for musical aptitudes. We can identify musical aptitudes in children as young as age 2. If you have a child under the age of 6 that you suspect may have some of the signs listed above, please see the page about Perfect Absolute Pitch. Please click on the link about testing to see what we test for, and why it is important to have this testing done for every student before music lessons begin. |
